The Jam Table

When we make music together, we make humanity richer.

Sometimes music is spiritual. Sometimes it’s raucous. Sometimes it’s weird and off-putting.

Sometimes it’s just noise – yet when the hearts of the musicians align, it can be all of this at once – and more.

The Jam Table is just a prototype.

As I roll it out into the world, I’m collecting feedback from people who play it, guiding my way to building its next, better iteration. My only goal is to have people make music together that enriches them – and inspires all who hear it to go do something good together. Or at least weird, raucous, and spiritual.

Here’s a build log with sketches, photos, and videos of how the Jam Table came together and where it’s going:

  1. New idea – the Jam Table
  2. A built-in Kick Drum
  3. XyloVan keyboard transplant
  4. The failed Tube Bass experiment
  5. The not-great Electric Bass experiment
  6. Designing a real, live Standup Bass
  7. Necking the Standup Bass
  8. Boxing the Bass – This ain’t gonna work … is it?
  9. Stuff to bang on with sticks
  10. Success! The Jam Table is now fully playable!
  11. Dialing in the bass box
  12. Bulletproofing the Jam Tabletop

(More to come!)
